How to sell sports photos online

Do you photograph races, trail, cycling or matches for the love of it? Here is how to put your photos on sale without building your own shop.

Who it is for

Sphortos accepts photographers of all levels, amateur and professional, as long as the images meet the platform's minimum quality standards. You do not need a website or to handle payments.

The steps

1. Sign up for free as a partner photographer and submit samples of your work. The team reviews your profile and replies within 48 business hours.

2. Once approved, upload the photos of each event through the photographer dashboard.

3. The platform automatically pixelates the faces of everyone in the images, in line with GDPR.

4. Athletes and participants find the event, choose and buy the photos.

5. When a photo sells, you receive your commission automatically and follow your sales in the dashboard.

Image rights and privacy

By submitting photos you confirm you are the author and that the people photographed consented to publication, in line with GDPR and applicable law. All published photos have faces pixelated by default, and every image has a report-and-removal button.

No joining fees

There is no joining fee or set-up cost: you only pay when you sell. What you earn depends on the events you shoot and the number of photos sold; we do not promise income.
